Annual Eye Examinations

Regular eye exams are an important tool in eye health for detecting and preventing eye diseases and evaluating the overall health of the patient. Some diseases, such as glaucoma, develop gradually without symptoms or vision loss, so patients may not notice that anything is wrong until significant and irreversible damage as been done. Early detection of eye diseases allows for a better choice of treatment options and a reduced risk of permanent damage.

Medical Services

In addition to our comprehensive eye examinations, we also provide a wide array of specialty medical services. Sometimes, eye exam results or medical histories indicate that a patient could be at risk for a certain condition or disease. Many eye diseases and conditions can be treated successfully if discovered early, so it is important to have an eye health examination annually. Whether you have a family history of eye disease, were injured, or simply woke up with a red, itchy eye, we can help you!

Dry Eyes Treatments

Dry eye is a multifactorial disease of the tears and ocular surface that results in discomfort, visual disturbance, and tear film instability with potential damage to the ocular surface. It is accompanied by changes in the normal tear film and inflammation of the ocular surface. In fact, dry eye disease occurs when your eyes do not produce enough tears or produce poor quality tears. That's why it's essential you get your tears analyzed by your eye doctor. Only an eye doctor can properly diagnose your problem and treat it appropriately.

Eye Spa-LipiFlow®

They are individually sealed devices called activators placed around the eyelids and a gentle “massaging” coupled with the precise application of heat is released removing gland blockages and reactivating gland function. The treatment leaves the eyeball completely protected.

Myopia Control

Myopia is a rising epidemic in the developed world with approximately 50% of people in the United States diagnosed as myopic and almost 90% in parts of Asia [1]. In addition to the social, emotional, and financial effects of myopia, there are anatomical ramifications as well. Highly myopic patients are exposed to unique risks due to their elongated axial length (front to back length of the eye). While refractive surgery may eliminate a patient’s myopic refraction once it stabilizes, it does not eliminate the pathological threat associated with high myopia.

Contact Lens Exam/Fitting

There are a number of reasons why you might prefer contact lenses to standard eyewear: a glasses-free look, hassle-free vision correction, wearing non-prescription sunwear and goggles, or the convenience of not having to worry about misplacing your glasses. If you have a high prescription or astigmatism, contact lenses may provide more enhanced vision correction than glasses. Today, you can even replace your bifocal glasses with bifocal contact lenses.

Hearing Care

A hearing evaluation involves a variety of tests to assess your hearing abilities. Your audiologist will complete the following during your visit: case history, otoscopy, tympanometry, pure tone testing, speech testing, and a cognitive screener. After the evaluation, Dr. Guerra will discuss the results with you, explain any hearing loss, demonstrate hearing aids if warranted, and recommend appropriate treatment, such as hearing aids, listening devices, or medical referrals if necessary. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions or address any concerns regarding your hearing health.
